We require a mature age Apprentice Diesel Fitter, preferably with recognised prior learning within the Heavy Earthmoving Machinery Industry. This position is best suited to an enthusiastic and mechanically minded person who would like to join our team and begin their training to become a skilled and qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter.
If you have started your Heavy Diesel Apprenticeship and are looking for a change, want to continue to gain your qualification in a secure role, with a supportive team, this is the job for you!
To be considered for this role you must be a reliable, honest and hardworking individual with an eagerness to learn. You will be supported and trained by our team who are enthusiastic about sharing their extensive knowledge during your apprenticeship training and be involved in a variety of work.
If you have an interest in working with Heavy Earthmoving Machinery, in particular Caterpillar D10, D11 Dozers, 16M Graders, 773 Water Trucks, Excavators and Moxy Trucks then this is your chance!
The successful applicant will possess the following attributes:
- Be reliable and self-motivated
- Hold a valid driver’s licence
- Available to work 5 – 6 days per week and be flexible with onsite requirements
- Be fit and healthy and able to pass a Coal Board Medical
- You must be able to work within a team environment
- Sound OHS knowledge & the ability to follow direction processes
- Be able to provide 2 x referees

Heavy Diesel Fitter Required – Emerald Qld
Armfleece are seeking a trade qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter with experience working on CAT Dozers, Graders, Water Trucks and Excavators.
We are willing to offer suitable candidates’ permanent full-time employment.
Friendly team situated in Emerald.
We are eager to speak to applicants with the following:
- The ability to work effectively in a team & independently
- An eagerness to learn & always develop
- Plant maintenance experience including trouble shooting and diagnostics of equipment faults
- Solid experience with CAT mining equipment (workshop or mine site)
- Demonstrate safe, professional and productive behaviour
You will require the following:
- Current Coal Board Medical (or the ability to pass the required Medical)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical & D&A
- Current Standard 11 (S11)
- Australian Recognised Trade qualification
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- HC Licence preferred but not essential
